“Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.” Psalm 16:5
Welcome to our June/July newsletter!
We have so many awesome things going on during this time of year. It is really an exciting time here at Little Ones. Speaking of exciting times, a huge thank you to all of the parents who brought in gifts for our wonderful teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! Everyone felt so special.
Pre-K Graduation
Our Pre-K Graduation ceremony is being held on Friday, June 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the church auditorium. Your child needs to be at school in the Main Room at 6:45 p.m. We will have our special caps and gowns for them to wear for the ceremony. The children will be practicing for the Big Event from Monday through Friday June 18-22 at 9:30 a.m. Please have your child here for several of the practice days so that they are ready to perform the songs they have worked so hard on! This is going to be a very momentous occasion so be sure to bring your family and friends. Don’t forget cameras and video equipment to record this special night for generations to come. Sorry, there is no reserved seating, and doors open at 6:45.
Children going to TK/Kindergarten
Getting ready to transition to another school for T-K/Kindergarten is an exciting time for us as parents but keep in mind it is a huge change for your child. Most of our graduates have been here many years and are very established with their friends and routines. Children feel secure in their daily routine and change (even good change) can cause anxiety. The unknown is scary. So be careful how much you say about going to their new school.
Holiday Closures:
Little Ones will be closed the following days:
- Wednesday July 4th ( Independence Day)
- Friday August 31 (Teacher In-Service)
- Monday Sept. 3 (Labor Day)
Vacation Plans
If you know your child will be taking a vacation or know their last day of attendance, please write it down on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board.
Sunscreen and Summer Clothing
If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it in the morning before you come to school. We are no longer able to apply sunscreen to the children at school without a doctors note. It is a health and safety issue. Please do not send sunscreen to school with your child or leave in their cubby. Remember: The higher the SPF rating the more protection your child will be getting throughout the day! Also, please check your child’s cubby and make sure they have extra summertime clothing. This comes in especially handy after a hard afternoon of water play!
Here’s what we’re doing in our classes June and July
In addition to learning and reviewing our letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Our theme for June is: Summer Fun and Under the Sea. Our theme for July is: Plants and Fairy Tales.
